Why this month is special for Terrace Gardening?

The first and important thing we have much time as most of us are mostly staying at home. It is time we can try new things one of the things is gardening. Imagine if you can grow your own vegetable in your home only by gardening or terrace gardening. This month is the best month to start. July in India is a wet month and the temperature also gets cooler in July. This month is the best month to start your dream, you can grow your own vegetables without pesticides

Things needed for gardening

  1. The basic thing we needed is a pot or grow bag or plastic boxes(some plastic boxes will get affected by UV light and gets damaged).
  2. The soil we should use is red soil mixed with river sand to reduce its hardness and the plant roots can easily penetrate. you can also use Coco peat which is made up of coconut fibers.
  3. Fertilizers. Use organic fertilizers like vegetable waste, Vermicompost, etc.. 
  4. Seeds. While buying seeds buy new seed some times old seeds will not sprout. Most of the seeds are available in the market or you can take from your kitchen the seeds like coriander, chili, fenugreek, etc.
  5. Some basic tools to work on the soil.
  6. If pests affect your garden use neem oil mix with water and spray on it.
  7. We need to spend daily some time and be patient.
  8. Start with small effort.

How to start?

Start with easily growing vegetable chili, Tomato, radish, ladies finger, and brinjal. 
For leafy vegetables start with coriander, fenugreek, spinach, mint, etc.
Mix red soil, sand, and Fertilizers in 2:1:1 ratio for better results.
Water regularly and don't keep under the direct sunlight you can use shade net 35%. It is not necessary for cold places or rainy season. Using a shade net above 35% some times will affect plants and it will not give flowers. Try to buy seeds from a local store some times buying online can cost you much and takes time.
